The bankruptcy of the north american bank Lehman Brothers, in September of the passed year, was one of main landmarks of the beginning of the world-wide financial crisis. Today, one year later, the World Economic Forum announced the ranking of competitiveness 2009, in which Brazil jumped eight positions. Occupying now the 56th place, the country still is in the intermediate place of the list, but it exceeded Mexico and it left being the last one of the countries of the Bric.
Despite still being far from countries of Latin America as Chile, that occupies the 28th position, to go up eight places at a time marked by the crisis it is a good notice. Furniture manufacturers will know markets of Central Asia

Among days 25 of September and 4 of October, the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Commerce (Mdic), in partnership with the Departments of state and of the Agriculture and with the Brazilian Agency of Promotion to the Exportations and Investments (Apex-Brazil), carries through the commercial mission to Turkey, Cazaquistan and Uzbequistan. The furniture sector is among the 15 chosen sectors to participate of the mission.

Tecmatic receives clients in its plant

The supplier of machines and equipment SCM Group - Tecmatic Brazil inaugurated in this Wednesday, 9th of September, its new showroom, in the headquarters of the company, in São Bento do Sul (SC). The opening of the space was marked by the event "Open House Brasil", carried through between 9th and 11th of September.

Brazil goes up eight positions in ranking of competitiveness
Before in 64th position, country exceeds Mexico and now occupies 56th rank
Brazil went up eight positions in ranking of competitiveness of the World Economic Forum of this year. In accordance with information published by periodicals the State of São Paulo and Folha of São Paulo, the factor that influenced the most in the ascent of the country, that now occupies the 56th position, was the innovation of the private sector.

Surplus of US$ 480 million in September
Growth was on account of the increase in the embarkment of manufactured products
The trade balance of the first week of September, with four working days (between 1st and 6th), closed presented surplus of US$ 480 million (daily average of US$ 120 million). The exportations, in the period, had reached US$ 2,738 billion (daily average of US$ 684,5 million) and the importations, US$ 2,258 billion (daily average of US$ 564,5 million). In the comparison for the daily average result, the exportations had been 3,9% greaters than the results of all the month of August of 2009 (US$ 659,1 million).
The growth is due to the increase in the embarkment of manufactured products (19,9%), passing of US$ 266 million for US$ 319 million. The other categories had presented fall: semimanufactured (- 1,8%), of US$ 88,7 million for US$ 87,1 million; and basic (- 7,7%), of US$ 290 million for US$ 267,6 million. In the gathered of the year, the surplus was of US$ 20,448 billion (daily average of US$ 120,3 million). In the comparison for values, the number is 18,7% greater than the registered in the same period of last year - surplus of US$ 17,223 billion and daily average of US$ 100,1 million - and 20,1% greater in the comparison for the daily average.
